7 a side football

After an extremely topsy-turvy season with numerous injuries to squad members we managed to reach the semi-final of the Super Soccer Sevens football tournament. Not a bad effort for our first season together! A few new faces had to be brought in as 4 first team regulars were missing through holiday commitments and injury. Unfortunately through a catalogue of misfortune and errors after the first half we were staring defeat in the face, an improved second half pulled a few goals back but the final whistle brought an end to our cup dreams. After the display by the National Team in Norway we can hold our heads high though, as we at least qualified for the finals of a major tournament this season. There is talk of a winter league but if not we'll all meet again same time next year. Many thanks to all those that gave up their Monday nights for the cause: Dave Hope Snr, Dave Hope Jnr.
